Certified Fitness Equipment Technician
The NCFET™ Certified Equipment Technician (CET) designation is a verifiable professional credential for individuals who service, repair, and maintain commercial fitness equipment. Earn it through structured training, logged field hours, and a proctored examination.
What Does "Certified" Mean at NCFET™?
Unlike employer-issued badges or self-reported qualifications, NCFET™ certification requires an independent verification process. Technicians must complete coursework, log verified service hours, and pass a closed-book proctored exam before a credential is issued.
Every issued credential is assigned a unique certificate number and QR code that links to a real-time public verification record — so employers, facilities, and property managers can instantly confirm a technician's status, level, and expiration date.
Independently Verified
Not self-reported. NCFET™ reviews service hours and grades exams before any credential is issued.
Three Credential Levels
CET-1 (entry), CET-2 (intermediate), and CET-3 (advanced) — built around career progression.
QR-Code Verification
Every certificate includes a scannable QR code that links directly to the public verification record.
Renewal & Continuing Education
Credentials expire after 24 months and are renewed through continuing education and renewal exams.
Certification Levels
Entry-level credential. Covers safety, tools, electrical basics, mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and documentation. No experience minimum.
Intermediate credential for technicians with 50+ verified hours. Advanced diagnostics, system-level troubleshooting, and performance testing.
